(ANSA) – Rome, November 8 – A Rome court on Tuesday ordered the seizure of 152 Internet sites offering sporting events, football matches and movies in streaming for free. This means websites such as rojadirecta.tv, socceryou.com, filmsenzalimiti.co and altadefinizione.video will be blacked out.
The case was sparked when finance police reported the websites for copyright infringement on October 17.
“This is the biggest seizure in the history of the Internet in Italy,” said Fulvio Sarzana, a lawyer for some online operators.
On January 25, finance police obtained the seizure of 124 websites that streamed entire sporting championships as well as movies and TV series free of charge, after Sky Italia lodged a complaint.
