Italian police investigate telecom data

The Italian Financial Police have launched an investigation into compliance with the regulations on retention of telephone and computer traffic data. The Rome branch of the Financial Police, in collaboration with the Guarantor for the protection of personal data, is questioning 11 telephony companies and ISPs as part of the investigation. The goal of the operation is to verify whether the service providers comply with the rules on privacy.
